Kinhold is built so that your family's data stays your family's. This policy covers two situations: the marketing site you're reading right now (kinhold.app), and the hosted version of Kinhold at app.kinhold.app. If you self-host Kinhold on your own server, none of your family data ever touches us.
The marketing site (kinhold.app)
The static marketing site collects no personal data. No analytics scripts, no third-party trackers, no cookies set by us. The site is served from Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) for abuse prevention.
The hosted Kinhold app (app.kinhold.app)
What we store
- Your account email and password hash (bcrypt).
- Family data you create: tasks, calendar events, vault entries, points, achievements, rewards, meals.
- Files you upload: documents, images, vault attachments.
- Standard server logs for security and debugging (IP, user agent, request path, timestamp). Logs are retained for 30 days.
What we do not store
- We do not sell or rent your data. Ever.
- We do not run ad networks, analytics SDKs, or trackers inside the app.
- We do not read the contents of your vault. Vault items are encrypted with a key derived from your account secret.
AI usage
If you use Kinhold's built-in AI or connect an external AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible client), prompts and responses pass through that provider under their privacy terms. If you bring your own API key, your traffic goes directly to the provider with no middleman. If you use one of our hosted AI tiers, your prompts are routed through our Anthropic account but are never logged by us or used for model training.

Self-hosted installs
If you run Kinhold on your own server, we have zero visibility into your install. We do not phone home, do not collect telemetry, do not check licenses. Your data lives on your hardware under your control.
Your rights
- Export: Standard exports for tasks, calendar (ICS), and vault (encrypted JSON) are available in-app at any time.
- Delete: Email hello@kinhold.app and we will purge your account and all family data within 7 days. Backups roll over within 30 days.
- Correct: All your data is editable in the app. If you need help, reach out.
Kids' data
Kinhold accounts for kids are managed accounts created by a parent. Kids have no email on file, no login outside the family install, and none of their data is shared with anyone outside the family. If a parent deletes a child's account, all associated data is removed.
